Salisbury girls soccer falls to Spartans, Lions

Over the past week the Salisbury girls soccer team has faced a couple of teams headed for the postseason.

The first was against Moravian Academy (7-5 Colonial, 8-6 overall) and the second came against Southern Lehigh (8-4, 10-6). Salisbury lost to Moravian Academy 8-0 and fell to the Spartans 4-0.

In the loss to Southern Lehigh, Gabi Pena was the busiest player on the field as she made 19 saves for the Falcons to keep the game within reach. Southern Lehigh’s Shea Lieberman led the Spartans attack with two goals in the game. The Salisbury offense struggled to get shots with just two shots on goal in the game.

On Monday, the Lady Falcons fell to Oley Valley in a nonleague game by a 3-1 score.

Other than a nine-goal outbreak against Lincoln Leadership in their lone win of the season, the Salisbury offense has struggled to score goals, getting just one goal outside of their win over the Lions.

The season wraps up with a final home game against Northern Lehigh (6-5-0, 11-5-0).
