Rochester Institute of Technology

Students graduate

Rochester Institute of Technology conferred more than 4,800 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2022-23 academic year. RIT’s academic convocation celebration was held in May and featured remarks by Thomas Zurbuchen, astrophysicist and the longest continually serving associate administrator for the Science Mission Directorate in NASA’s history.

Bath: Austin Frey, Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering technology

Northampton: Andrew Cochrane, Bachelor of Science in motion picture science

Whitehall: Emily Lazarus, Master of Science in materials science and engineering

Alvernia University

Faulkner, Lu named to dean’s list

Abigail Faulkner, of Bath and an early childhood pre-K to grade 4 major, and Joyce Lu, of Whitehall and an athletic training major, have been named to Alvernia University’s dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester. Faulkner and Lu were among more than 700 Alvernia students to earn the honor. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

Alvernia University is a Catholic comprehensive university with a liberal arts foundation founded by the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters in 1958. The university serves more than 3,000 students in Reading, Pottsville and Philadelphia with a unique blend of rigorous liberal arts education, strong technical training in many high demand majors, ever-expanding experiential learning opportunities through study abroad and internship experiences and community engagement through its Franciscan-based community service model.

Widener University

Dean’s list honors announced

Hadil Hazim, Jacob Paashau and Claudia Rehnert, all of Whitehall, earned dean’s list honors for the spring 2023 semester at Widener University. The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who earned a GPA of 3.5 and above for the semester.

Mount St. Mary’s University

Herrera named to dean’s list

Yasier Herrera, of Whitehall, is among the 596 students who earned dean’s list honors for the spring 2023 semester at Mount St. Mary’s University. Students who maintain a 3.4 GPA or higher are eligible for this honor.

Mount St. Mary’s University is a private, liberal arts, Catholic university in the Catoctin Mountains near historic Emmitsburg, Md., with a satellite campus in Frederick, Maryland’s second largest city. The university offers more than 80 majors, minors, concentrations and special programs for traditional undergraduate students and more than 20 adult undergraduate and graduate level programs. The Mount includes Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, the second oldest in the United States, and the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, an idyllic shrine for spiritual reflection located on the hill above the university.

Seton Hall University

Schroyer earns dean’s list

Seton Hall University is pleased to announce Matthew Schroyer, of Bath, has qualified for the spring 2023 dean’s list. After the close of every semester, undergraduate students completing all courses with a GPA of 3.4, with no grades lower than C, qualify for this honor.

Middle Tennessee State University

Peters earns dean’s list

Brandon Peters, of Walnutport, is among 300 Middle Tennessee State University undergraduate students included on the latest dean’s list for their academic achievements for the summer 2023 semester. Peters is majoring in integrated studies. To qualify for the dean’s list, an undergraduate student must maintain a current semester GPA of at least 3.5 and have earned at least 12 semester hours.

Founded in 1911 as one of three state normal schools for teacher training, Middle Tennessee State University is one of the oldest and largest undergraduate universities in the state of Tennessee.

Southern New Hampshire University

Almonti, Sierra named to dean’s list

Nicholas Almonti, of Catasauqua, and Jaylyn Sierra, of Whitehall, have been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s summer 2023 dean’s list. The summer terms run from May to August. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the dean’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits during each 16-week term or paired eight-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring and summer.

Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the summer 2023 president’s list. The summer terms run May-August.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to this honor. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits during each 16-week term or paired eight-week terms in fall, winter/spring and summer.
