Accident

Two people were hurt when their sport utility vehicle lost traction and slid into an embankment along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township 2:17 a.m. June 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Authorities outlined the details of the crash in a news release as follows: The vehicle was westbound allegedly traveling too fast for conditions while it was raining. The vehicle slid off the right side of the road. A piece of debris from the crash struck another vehicle, causing minor damage. The driver of the SUV was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus, by Upper Saucon EMS, according to authorities. One of the passengers in the SUV was described by authorities as sustaining a possible injury. Four other passengers in the SUV escaped injury. The driver of the second vehicle was unhurt. Yocum Towing also responded.

Hit and run accident

A dump truck struck a tractor trailer truck parked along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township in a hit-and-run accident 11:06 p.m. June 29, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The truck, described as a 2017 Freightliner, was parked on the right shoulder of I-78 West, Exit 59 on-ramp when the dump truck, traveling westbound on the ramp, struck the trailer of the truck, causing minor damage before continuing westbound. No one was injured, according to authorities.
