FINAL WEEK OF SCHOOL YEAR JUNE 5-8: All BASD schools will conclude the school year with a half day for all students tomorrow. High schools will dismiss at 11 a.m. Middle schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. Elementary schools will dismiss at noon.

ENGINEERING CAMP FOR MS GIRLS: Lehigh University will hold a one week Engineering Camp for girls. Spots are limited and scholarships are available. For more information contact clw219@lehigh.edu

FIT FOR LIFE SUMMER PROGRAM: Fit for Life is offering four weeks of summer programming for students entering grades 5 and 6. From June 19 to July 21. 9 a.m. to noon daily. SOCCER CAMP 2023: The Liberty HS Soccer Club will host camps for students who will enter grades 1-7 in the fall. Camps will be held at Nitschmann MS. There will be morning camps from June 19-22. NEW GRADING SYSYTEM FOR GRADES 6-12: Bethlehem Area School District is updating its Report Card Grading system for grades 6-12 beginning in the 2023-24 school year.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION AT NOTHEAST MS: On the second Saturday of each month, from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a drive-through food distribution at Northeast MS, 1170 Fernwood St. The distribution is open to families of BASD students. The next distribution will be on Saturday June 10.

BETHLEHEM HEALTH DEPARTMENT OFFERS STUDENT VACCINATIONS: Vaccinations are required for all students, with specific vaccinations needed for students entering the seventh and 12th grades. To schedule a vaccination for your child, contact the Bethlehem Health Department at 610-865-7083.

LIBERTY HS SENIOR ANGEL GAETAN RECEIVES BLUE LINE SCHOLARSHIP: The Bethlehem Police Department named Liberty HS Senior Angel Gaetan its Blue Line Scholarship awardee. The scholarship is open to both Freedom and Liberty HS seniors who intend to pursue a secondary education with a focus on a career in law enforcement. Angel attended Nitschmann MS before attending Liberty HS. Throughout his four years at Liberty he has been devoted to his academics and his community. Angel plans on attending Northampton County Community College, with the goal of one day becoming an officer with the City of Bethlehem Police Department.

FREEDOM HS THEATRE COMPANY DONATES BOOKS TO COPS-N-KIDS: The Freedom HS Theatre Company recently donated 667 books to the Cops ‘n’Kids program!

CALYPSO ES SERENITY SUITE OPEN: In partnership with St. Luke’s, a Serenity Suite has been opened at Calypso ES.
