Salisbury Class of 2023 graduation June 4

It’s that time of year – there are many grade level field trips and fun activities going on. Please pay attention to dates so your students head off to school prepared for whatever fun is planned ... and if they are outside don’t forget sunscreen and water.

Salisbury Township schools will be closed May 26 for a teacher in-service day as well as May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.

Salisbury Elementary School will hold fourth grade graduation June 1. If you have a fourth grader, look for this information as it is an event you don’t want to miss.

I’m getting chills just thinking of this, but the Salisbury High School Class of 2023 will have its commencement and graduation June 4. Current senior families should look for more information as time is absolutely of the essence. Good Luck to the Class of 2023 no matter where life takes you, I wish you the best!

All Salisbury Township students will wrap up classes for this school year the following week. June 6 will be an early dismissal for the district with SHS and Salisbury Middle School dismissing 12:15 p.m. and SES dismissing 1:15 p.m. As always, communicate any change in dismissal plans with the school.

The last day for the 2022-2023 school year will be June 7. SHS and SMS will dismiss 10:30 a.m. and SES will dismiss 11:15 a.m. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer!

The next operations committee meeting will be 7 p.m. June 7 in the administration building, immediately followed by the finance committee meeting.

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding a clothing drive 9 a.m. to noon June 3 at SHS. The drop off location will be the high school auxiliary gym entrance. The truck will pick up donations between noon and 1 p.m. For more information, visit www.clothingdrive.net.

The Salisbury Township cheerleaders are holding a Chick-fil-A fundraiser June 22 at the Whitehall Chick-fil-A. This event is good on both dine in and take out orders completed at the location and runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. All you need to do is mention Salisbury Township cheerleading when you place your order or show the flyer (found online) on your phone. The cheerleaders will then get 15% donated back to the cheerleading program.

Salisbury Township night at the IronPigs is back. The game will be June 29 with a 7:05 p.m. start and it’s a fanny pack giveaway night. Tickets include a $2 concession credit. To order tickets, complete the registration form found on the township website and return to the township building. Any questions can be sent to Lisa Casey at lcasey@salisburytownshippa.org.

The Devonshire Drop-off site will be open May 25 and 27 and the Franko site will be open June 1 and 3. All drop off sites will be closed May 29 in observation of Memorial Day. Hours will remain 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

The next bingo at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, will be June 4. Bingo starts 2 p.m.; doors open 1 p.m. For more information, call Louise at 484-456-1148.

A community blood drive will be held at Jerusalem Church 3-7 p.m. June 13 in memory of Wayne Leibensperger Jr. To schedule an appointment, call Deana Leibensperger at 610-217-3155.
