Joyce A. (Begies) Szilagyi, 85, of Bethlehem, died May 15, 2023. Born in Pen Argyl, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Toth) Begies. She was the wife of Charles G. Szilagyi for 63 years.

She was a 1955 graduate of Pen Argyl HS and a 1959 graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing.

She was an administrative assistant for her husband’s business, Szilagyi Fuel Company Inc., for many years until she retired.

She was a member of the St. Theresa, Hellertown; and the former St John Capistrano, Bethlehem.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Jeffrey and wife Susan and Charles and wife Sue, all of Hellertown, and Scott Szilagyi of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Christopher Szilagyi and wife Tara, Matthew Szilagyi and companion Maelynn Grube, Nicole Brickey and husband Andrew and Jessica Tomasetti and husband Ron; a sister-in-law, Theresa Springer; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, John Begies and Jim Begies.
