Patriots aiming for improvement

John Bisco hopes his second year at the helm of Freedom’s baseball program can deliver better results following last year’s 6-14 season.

The Patriots appear to be an inexperienced group to start the season, but that doesn’t discount what Bisco thinks of the crew he has this spring.

“We are only returning a few starters and lost an all-League catcher to graduation,” he said. “We have a great mix of veteran leadership with some energetic youth to drive this team.”

Coming back for the Pates are Talon Collins (Sr., 2B); Kevin Kullman (Sr., SS); Kyle Kullman (Sr., 3B); Cameron Frantz (Sr., C); John Roeder (Sr., C); Ryan Hoffman (Sr., P, 1B); and Jarred Peluso (Jr., OF).

New faces in the mix include Colin Andrews (Fr., OF); Ryan Kullman (So., 2B, P); Matt Heineman (So., P); Michael Cobb (So., SS, 2B); Patrick Kiefner (So., C); Shane Moscberger (So., C); Alex Suarez (Jr., 1B); John Phillips (So., OF) and Justin Peluso (Jr., OF).

“Our goal is to win today,” said Bisco. “We love the kids in the program right now and just strive to make sure they get better each day.”
