District News: Students able to purchase additional food items

As of March 27, students are now permitted to purchase additional food items from the cafeteria from their school accounts. Any additional items must be paid for at the time of purchase. Students will need to have the money in their accounts or they will not be permitted to take additional food.

Students will continue to be provided a single lunch free of charge.

Whitehall High School’s spring musical, “9 to 5,” will take place 7 p.m. March 30-April 1 and 2 p.m. April 2.

To purchase tickets ahead of time, visit showtix4u.com/events/whitehalltheater. Tickets may also be available at the door before each performance.

On March 31, WHS students and staff are invited to wear their favorite team jerseys in honor of opening day of baseball season.

March 31 is the last day of the third marking period for students.

Report cards will be issued electronically by 10 a.m. April 12. Please review your child’s grades on Powerschool to make sure everything is completed for the quarter.

Whitehall Waves Aquatic Club is looking for swimmers. Registration is open now through March 31. Sessions will run April 11-May 19.

On April 2, some Steckel Elementary School staff members will be bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley. Staff members will support the mission to create one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth right in the Lehigh Valley. Many of the Steckel students are a part of this program.

Whitehall-Coplay School District will be closed for spring break April 6-10.

The Zephyr Elementary School fifth-grade band and chorus will be opening the Phantoms hockey game 7 p.m. April 14 with a performance on the ice. Spread the word and plan to wear your Zephyr apparel if attending.

Parents/guardians need to purchase tickets to the April 14 game online only by visiting fevo.me/3wAfh08. Tickets cost $15. To get seats together, it’s strongly encouraged to purchase all tickets you need at one time.

WCSD’s Family Night event, celebrating the district’s cultural diversity, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 19 at WHS. The event is open to all K-12 students, families and anyone and everyone from the community.

The 2022-23 Zephyr Elementary School yearbooks are on sale for $25. The sale ends April 21.

Congratulations to Hope-Mouchia Deborah Ade for creating this year’s yearbook cover. Her illustration was voted on by the Zephyr staff and will be featured on the front cover.

The second annual Zephyr grab-and-go will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. May 20 in the cafeteria at WHS.

If you have gently used household items and clothing, drop off your donations at door No. 2 at WHS 4-6 p.m. April 14 and 28 or drop them off 4-7 p.m. May 19 in the cafeteria at WHS.
