Coplay Public Library: Movies are shown Saturdays

Visit Coplay Public Library to watch a movie on our big screen. We will be showing movies 1 p.m. every Saturday.

The movie schedule is “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” April 1, “Raya and the Last Dragon” April 8, “The Lost City” April 15, “The Book Thief” April 22 and “Murder by Death” April 29.

Bring your own snacks!

The library is holding a 50/50 raffle through March. The drawing will be noon April 1.

Storytime with Miss Sharon, for all ages, will be 11 a.m. April 22. A craft will follow. All ages are welcome to attend.

No preregistration is necessary.

The library’s spring basket social will be held May 13 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St.

The baskets will be on display at the library a week before the social. If you would like to donate a basket or items for a basket, please drop them off at the library.

Thank you to everyone who supported our book and bake sale held this past weekend.

Vince’s Famous Steak Sandwiches is coming to Coplay! The library is sponsoring the food truck May 9 at Coplay Parkway.

Baked goods and drinks will also be on sale.

More information will be announced shortly.

The library is helping Coplay’s park and recreation committee with a fundraiser by selling lottery calendars for the month of June.

Your donation will help support the pool and gives you 30 chances to win!

The library will be hosting a crocheting class 1 p.m. Wednesdays, for all levels of experience. Bring your current project, or start a new one.

If you don’t crochet but knit, do latch rugs or needlepoint instead, come join.

Need to use a computer to search for information or make printouts? We have six public access computers for you to use. Just show your library card at the front desk when you come into the library.

If you don’t have a library card, it only takes a few minutes to get one. All you need is a form of ID, like a driver’s license.

Library cards are free and can be used at 12 libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties.

Do you have books that are gently read that you would like to donate to the library? We are happy to accept them. We also accept DVDs and CDs. For your safety, drop them off at the circulation desk during open hours.

The next sale is tentatively planned for Oct. 6 and 7.

Curbside service is available for those who do not wish to come into the library.

If you are vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask in the library. If you are not vaccinated, please continue to wear a mask for your safety and the safety of others.

We also encourage maintaining social distancing to ensure everyone’s safety.

Although we had a mild winter, we can still have some days when the library needs to close due to weather conditions.

The library does not follow the school schedule for closings. We list early and full-day closings on WFMZ television and wfmz.com/stormcenter and on our Facebook page. Check these sources before you make a trip here.

The library’s hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
