Salisbury Elementary School to participate in Autism Acceptance Week March 27-31

Salisbury Elementary School is celebrating Autism Acceptance Week March 27-31.

On March 27, every grade level is asked to wear a certain color. Kindergarten students will wear purple, first graders will wear red, second graders will wear green, third grade students, yellow, fourth graders, orange and the autism classrooms will wear blue. Other activities for the week include a door decorating contest and a puzzle piece activity.

On March 29 the staff will wear an autism awareness T-shirt purchased with a donation from Cuzin’s Pub and Grill, 2027 Tilghman St. Allentown. Thank you, Cuzin’s!

Last but not least, on March 31, all students and staff are asked to wear everything blue for Light It Up Blue day.

Also on March 29, the kindergarten class will hold its bonnet parade in front of the school starting 9:30 a.m.

The SES PTO is having a general meeting 6:30 p.m. April 3. It is the last meeting of the year and members are voting on updating the bylaws and electing new officers. If you have a student at SES, it would be a great meeting to attend. To sweeten the deal, there will be an ice cream sundae bar 6 p.m. The PTO will supply the ice cream and you just need to bring your favorite topping.

Salisbury Township schools will be closed for spring break April 6, 7 and 10.

The next two T-shirt days at SES are March 24 and April 5.

The Civil Service Commission of Salisbury Township will hold a public meeting 5 p.m. April 17 in the township municipal building to discuss upcoming business.

The Salisbury Yard Waste Drop-off sites will open for the season starting in April. The Franko site will be open April 3, 6 and 8. As always, hours of operation are Mondays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
