Reminder: Registration is open for the NASD’s spring community education program. Classes are open to residents and nonresidents and held at Siegfried Elementary School, 1677 Lincoln Ave., Northampton. Doors open 6:15 p.m., and classes begin 6:30 p.m.

Please park in the lots in the back of the school by the softball field and flagpole.

Zumba classes began March 1 and will continue Wednesdays through March 29 for $35, with a $10 drop-in fee. Yoga will begin April 4 and will continue Tuesdays through April 25 for $30, with a $10 drop-in fee.

Northampton Area School District’s elementary students will be ending the second trimester March 6.

Report cards will be available on the Sapphire community web portal beginning March 15.

Spring pictures are coming next month. All students will be photographed, but purchase is always an option. Dan’s Camera will be taking the photographs of the students.

Northampton Area High School seniors, if you did not have your school pictures taken, you may do so March 9.

NASD is in need of substitute teachers, instructional assistants, custodians, health room assistants, nurses, hall monitors and security guards. For substitute teachers, you need a teaching degree or a bachelor’s degree in any area to be of service.

Registration for kindergarten for the 2023-24 school year began Jan. 12.

To register your child online, visit the NASD website at nasdschools.org, click on the Enroll Now button to the right, then click the 2023-2024 Kindergarten Registration link and follow the directions. Admission to kindergarten requirements are that a child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Admission to first grade requires a child must be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1.
