SHS Class of 2024 holding spring fundraiser

Freshmen, sophomores and juniors finished course selections for the 2023-2024 school year. Students were asked by the guidance department to complete the course request form by Feb. 15. As all of these students have submitted these requests, guidance counselors will begin meeting with individual students and start making schedules for next year. Finalized schedules won’t be finished until the end of the year.

The STARs club, which stands for students taking active roles, just finished a donation drive for those in need. STARs members collected items for Homeless Care Kits that will be put together for the Sixth Street Shelter. The drive ended Feb. 16 and it was a successful drive. Items collected included toilet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, Band-Aids™, ChapStick™ and much more. Also, some teachers offered extra credit if students donated to the cause.

The Salisbury High School Class of 2024 is holding its spring fundraiser of the year. All juniors will be selling items through a Welcome Spring catalog. Items available for purchase include a variety of chocolates, plants, flowers, candles, wrapping paper and much more. This fundraiser will end March 1. If interested in purchasing items, contact any current junior or class adviser Megan Basile at mbasile@salisburysd.org.

In addition to the catalog fundraiser, juniors and sophomores are still selling Gertrude Hawk chocolate bars for $2 a bar. Please use the contact information above, or contact any current junior or sophomore to purchase.

Key Club has sold and is still selling Wawa hoagie cards. All proceeds benefit the Key Club and its plans for the spring. Future plans include helping out Special Olympics and an LVCC picnic. If interested in purchasing a card, contact adviser Barry Frick at bfrick@salisburysd.org or any current member of the Key Club.

Spring sports are right around the corner. The official start date for these sports seasons is March 6. All those participating in a spring sport must have the necessary forms completed in order to practice and play. Also, this is the first year girls and boys lacrosse is being offered to Salisbury students in partnership with Allentown Central Catholic High School.
