Northampton: Alliance plans Feb. 25 dinner

Alliance Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 717 Washington Ave., will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner 4-7 p.m. Feb. 25. The menu includes homemade roasted pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls and assorted desserts. Takeout is available.

A basket social will also be held.

Reminder: Northampton Borough Fire Department will be holding a designer purse bingo Feb. 25 at the fire station, 4 Lerchenmiller Drive. Doors will open 11 a.m., and bingo starts 12:30 p.m.

The cost of a ticket includes 20 games. Extra boards and bingo dabbers will be available at an additional cost. Tickets are available at the fire station.

The event is BYOB. Concessions will be sold.

A limited number of tickets will be sold at the door, and at a higher cost, on the day of the event.

Pickup for Grace United Church of Christ’s meat pie and apple dumpling fundraiser is 3-5 p.m. Feb. 25 or after the 10:30 a.m. service Feb. 26 at the church, 902 Lincoln Ave.

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 2181 Washington Ave., will hold a breakfast, planned for 8:30 a.m.-noon Feb. 26. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, omelets, hash browns, choice of breakfast meats and beverages. The public is invited.

Boy Scout Troop 93 is planning to hold a spaghetti dinner 4-7 p.m. March 25 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 19th Street and Lincoln Avenue. There is a cost, which includes drinks, salad and ice cream for dessert.

Children age 6 and under eat for free.

Proceeds will benefit the Boy Scouts.

A takeout crabcake and/or chicken finger dinner event will be held 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, 902 Lincoln Ave., on four Fridays - March 3, 10, 17 and 24 - on a first-come, first-serve basis. Dinners include two crabcakes or three chicken fingers, a baked potato, coleslaw, roll and a brownie.

Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Veteran’s Outreach Day will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. April 22 at Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave. The event is sponsored by Northampton Joint Veterans Association and the Valley Health Partners Veteran Health program.

Many veteran-based organizations will be present to provide information, support and services for all veterans, their families and their caretakers.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2023-24 school year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children, who do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children, who need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
