Falcon boys drop four games

After a win over Catasauqua in early December, the Falcons have dropped four straight games to fall to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the Colonial League.

Over the past week, Salisbury dropped games to Palmerton and Southern Lehigh, falling to the Bombers by a score of 50-36 and then dropping a 44-28 decision against the Spartans.

Against Palmerton (7-0 overall, 5-0 Colonial League), the Falcons had two players in double figures. Senior Lucas Graver and junior Jake Zellin both scoring 10 points in the game. Junior Thomas Lovelidge scored nine in the loss. Salisbury did not go quietly as Zellin scored eight of his points in the final quarter and the Falcons shot 80% (8-for-10) from the free-throw line looking for a come-from-behind win.

Graver, who missed two games before returning against the Bombers, followed up that performance with a 10-point outing against Southern Lehigh (3-2, 3-1) Monday night.

Salisbury is showing signs of improvement over its past three games. In the first three games, opponents went over the 60-point mark twice, but a developing defense has held their last three opponents to 132 points, with the 50 points against Palmerton being the most that they have allowed in a game.

Offensively, scoring is off by just two points per game over their last three contests when compared to the first three of the season.
