Pete’s Top-10: PHS takes the crown

Well, the time has finally come for the final poll of the season.

Parkland finishes the season on top after their impressive run through the postseason, as the Trojans are one of four local teams still playing this deep into the PIAA quarterfinals this weekend.

How many teams can actually post victories this weekend will be the questions, as three of the four contests are coming against Philadelphia schools, which never bodes well at this stage.

Still, it’s been a good run for District 11 and let’s hope they can keep things going into December.

Thanks for reading all season and enjoy the final installment of the 2022 Top 10.

1. Parkland (9-4)

Last week’s rank: #3

It’s been a great run by Parkland, but the Trojans won’t have enough firepower to take down the recruiting factory from Philly.

The Pick: St. Joe’s Prep 28 - Parkland 14

2. Freedom (10-3)

Last week’s rank: #1

3. Emmaus (10-2)

Last week’s rank: #2

Kids should get a better game this week for the sake of this rivalry.

The Pick: Northampton 35 - Catasauqua 14

6. Whitehall (8-5)

Last week’s rank: #6

This might not be the Imhotep teams of the past, but they’ll be tough to beat.

The Pick: Imhotep 35 - Whitehall 20

Last week’s rank: #7

Another tough matchup for the Vikes, but they surprised me last week beating Jersey Shore.

The Pick: Meadville 28 - Central Catholic 21

8. N’western (11-2)

Last week’s rank: #8

Tigers got the D11 title, but can they be the one local team to upset a Philly team this weekend?
