SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom and dad, Jill and John Gibbons. I have an older sister, Paige. We have one dog named Barklee (a Bichon/Yorkee mix).

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science. It’s fun working with friends during labs and interesting to learn how different elements affect each other.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. Last spring, I won third place in the 200 m sprint and fifth place in the 400 m sprint at Districts. I also received a Character Athlete of the Game Award in my junior football season. I am also a member of National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. The extracurricular sports I am involved in are track and field, football and ski club. I am also a member of Model UN, No Place For Hate, G.I.V.E. and Key Club.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school I plan on attending a 4-year university for business or engineering.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. One of my biggest challenges has been time management – balancing my time between academics, sports/clubs and work (self-owned lawn service and working at a local restaurant).

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered for being a respectful, kind person and for the fun moments I have spent with my peers.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my grandfather. He has shown up to all of my sports games as long as I can remember. I always enjoy the times we spend golfing and fishing together.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Always pursue your goals with maximum effort.
