Press Photo by Jim Marsh About 75 first responders attend the annual First Responder Appreciation Lunch Sept. 23 at the Nicos Elias Funeral Home, 1227 Hamilton St., in Allentown, hosted by Nicos and Genny Elias. First responders from the Allentown Police Department, Allentown Fire Department, the Lehigh County Sheriff's Department, Cetronia Ambulance Corps and Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company were treated to a sit-down meal catered by Stravino's, of Whitehall, at no cost. The luncheon is offered each September in appreciation to the front-line safety responders for all they do throughout the year. Pictured is a crew from Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company. Elias, a resident of Salisbury, has been an active member of the fire company for 33 years and currently serves on its board of directors.
