Upper Macungie Twp Police offering ‘Operation Bee Safe’

Upper Macungie Township police will once again conduct Operation Bee Safe, which is aimed at protecting children at school bus stops.

Through the program, residents are encouraged to nominate their child’s bus stop by contacting Officer William Rohrbach at wrohrbach@uppermac-pd.org.

Once nominated, the bus stop will be added to a list of rotating stops monitored by patrol officers in marked police cars with exterior emergency lights and police decals and unmarked police cars, as well as officers on foot.

Officers committed to this program are instructed to: ensure the safety of children and parents at every stop, monitor the stop for school bus flashing red light violators, and cite and prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
