K-Kid Roundup: Boys off to hot start
New coach Chris Bastidas has guided the boys soccer team to a hot start so far, as the Kids have won their first five games.
Bastidas said the process has started from the first day.
“The attitude of this team has been amazing since day one,” Bastidas said. “They started showing up and working hard from the moment I got the job.
“This team is full of great kids who care about team goals over anything else.”
That attitude has helped the team to a perfect start thus far and built momentum at the same team as the EPC is not an easy conference to play in.
“It’s great to start 5-0 because it gives us the confidence that we can play with, and beat, any team in the league,” Bastidas said. “We also know that there are not an easy games in this league and that we need to be mentally focused for each game. We also know that after being 5-0 we will not sneak up on any teams, teams are going to give us their best effort.”
One recent game was a 3-2, overtime win over Stroudsburg.
“The highlight of the season far is the overtime win against Stroudsburg because it showed our mental toughness, determination, and skill.”
