Bath: Salem UCC schedules annual peach festival for Aug. 13

Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive, will be holding its annual peach festival 3-9 p.m. Aug. 13.

There will be music by Desire, food, games, a cakewalk and bingo.

There are many picnic tables and benches, but you can bring your own lawn chair if you’d like.

If the weather is not agreeable that day, food and cakes will be in the church 3-7 p.m.

Bath Borough will be holding its Old Home Week Aug. 14-19.

Some of the fun events include:

• noon Aug. 14, placing of time capsule at borough hall

• 12:30 p.m. Aug. 14, softball and picnic at Ciff Cowling Park, Bath Allen Youth Club organized tourney, BYOB picnic and more

• 5 p.m. Aug. 16, dinner and a movie at Fireman’s Field with food trucks on site. Bring your own blankets and chairs.

• Aug. 18, business night

• 6 p.m. Aug. 19, dinner at American Legion with speakers focused on Bath history. There is a price.

Residents, join in the event celebrations above and decorate your homes with red, white and blue.

Christ Church United Church of Christ, 109 S. Chestnut St., will kick off Old Home Week with a special service set for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 14 followed by cake and coffee.

Bring old photos and stories to share with the group.

Spuds and Suds returns to the borough noon-7 p.m. Aug. 20.

This is the outdoor festival celebrating potatoes and beer, which will take place in downtown Bath.

Join in the fun for craft and food vendors, live music and more.

Bath Museum, 121 S. Walnut St., will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 20.

The museum committee will also staff the Siegfried Log Cabin, 448 W. Main St., Bath, that same day, 10 a.m.-noon. The cabin will open specially to coincide with Old Home Week and the Spuds and Suds Festival.

As always, admission to both is free.

Volunteers are needed at both the cabin and museum all year.

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will hold an outdoor worship service 9:30 a.m. Aug. 21, with a bluegrass flair and blessing of the backpacks.

Emmanuel’s Church’s Gen-Y group is planning a wine-tasting tour event 1-4 p.m. Aug. 21 at Sorrenti Family Estate Winery in Saylorsburg.

There will be wine tasting, a chance to order pizza or other snacks and enjoy music.

The wine tour will be paid for, and everyone can order their own food or chip in to share pizza.
