Coplay Public Library is hosting an animal presentation from Christina’s Reptile and Animal Sanctuary, set for 11 a.m. Aug. 6. The program is free and open to all ages.

Registration is not required, but you may sign up on the Facebook or website.

There will be storytime and a craft with Miss Brenda Aug. 11, 18 and 25.

Children, teens and adults still have a week to join our summer reading challenge - “Oceans of Possibilities.” The last day of the program is Aug. 13.

There are activities such as mazes, fun quizzes, take-home crafts and reading goals. As you complete an activity, you will receive a raffle ticket to win a gift basket. The drawing will be noon Aug. 13.

Stop by the library to design your own treasure chest. The library will provide materials - just bring your imagination. There are other fun decorations to enjoy, too.

Our library participates in the Amazon Smile program. Whenever you shop on Amazon, the program will donate 0.5% of the cost of your eligible purchases to the library. It is an easy, convenient way to contribute to the library with no added cost to you.

We are accepting donations for our October book sale, tentatively set for Oct. 7 and 8.

We can no longer accept textbooks, Reader’s Digest condensed books, encyclopedias, magazines, VHS tapes, books with torn or missing pages or anything damaged by water, mildew or other contaminants.

For safety reasons, do not put donations in the book drop or leave them by the front or back door. Staff members can help you bring anything into the building.

If you are vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask in the library. If you are not vaccinated, continue to wear a mask for your safety and the safety of others.

We also encourage maintaining social distancing to ensure safety.

The library’s summer hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
