Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church’s youth group will be participating in the World Vision 30-hour fast, starting noon Aug. 14. This allows youth and their sponsors to raise awareness and funds for World Vision’s work.

The event includes a sleepover at Holy Trinity. Grades 7-12 and alumni are welcome.

There will be ice skating 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Steel Ice in Bethlehem. This is open to youth who are or are not doing the fast.

RSVP to Diane as soon as possible at 610-739-6006. A permission slip will be required.

Participants in the fast eat together 6 p.m. Aug. 15.

Cleanup is planned for 7 p.m. Parental help is always welcome.

The youth of Holy Trinity will have a roller-skating activity 6-9 p.m. Aug. 17 at Skateaway in Whitehall.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a half-price sale on everything in the store, unless otherwise marked, through Aug. 6. The thrift shop is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.
