Catasauqua: Women’s group to meet at Holy Trinity

The Morning Glories of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will hold its next meeting 10 a.m. June 20 in the church for picnic fun. The ladies will be doing a table scavenger hunt, so fill your purses with unusual things.

Reminder: Scott Marshall and Marshall’s Highway will perform 7-10 p.m. June 17 at the Catasauqua Park and Playground amphitheater, 501 American St.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will be having its next program 7 p.m. June 21 at Public Library of Catasauqua, 302 Bridge St. Learn about the homes in the historic mansion district of Catasauqua, who lived there and what they contributed to the community and the nation.

Catty Seniors Plus will next meet 1 p.m. June 22 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua. Doors open noon.

This year’s J4 gala celebration will be held July 2, starting with an opening ceremony planned for 11 a.m. at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St.

The rain date is set for July 3.

There will be food stands, music, craft displays and games for adults and children. There will be a mega Catasauqua High School reunion at the event for every CHS class.

There will also be a flea market at the event. If you or your class is interested in selling items, reserve a space by contacting Mayor Barbara Schlegel at 610-264-1466.

You can bring a cooler, but we encourage you purchase your food from vendors.

North Catasauqua does not have a no-alcohol policy, but remember, this is a family event. The event is BYOB, but no barrels of beer are permitted. Also, no grills are allowed.

A big shout-out to the cast and crew of CHS who performed in the musical “Chicago.” Hannah Kurczeski received the Outstanding Featured Performance by an Actress Freddy Award. Catasauqua High School won for Outstanding Overall Production by a Smaller School.
