Rotary club offering variety of speakers

The Allentown West Rotary Club is a community of friends and professionals working together to address the needs of our local and global communities.

The club meets at 7:30 a.m. every Wednesday either at Madeline’s Restaurant or via Zoom.

AWRC also has a program of interesting speakers that cover a wide variety of topics.

Guests are always welcome to attend.

The schedule of speakers for June are:

·June 15: Arthur Rand, CEO at Baristi Coffee Roasters, 617 N. 13th St., Allentown, will give a presentation via Zoom. Baristi, established in 2004, is a family-owned business based in Allentown, dedicated to processing 100 percent Columbian Supremo-certified coffee. During this presentation, participants will learn about Fair Trade and coffee, best coffee roasting practices, how humidity affects coffee flavor, and why the Columbian coffee bean has the finest aroma and taste in the world.

·June 22: The AWRC Changeover breakfast which has been happening for 60 years will be held in-person at Madeline’s Restaurant and via Zoom. With each calendar year, which officially begins July 1, the District Governor formally inducts the new board. Bob Hobaugh, the current district governor, will induct the new board. Awards and recognition for club members will be presented and President Gail Micca will give an overview of the club’s accomplishments, as well as projected goals for the upcoming year. This is the first time in the club’s history that a president will serve two consecutive years.

·June 29: The member potluck will be held at the Cedarbrook Community Garden. Members and guests have the opportunity to tour our first garden, learn more about how the garden project is doing, enjoy an informal evening of refreshments, harvest (if possible), and maybe even play some cornhole.

Guests who would like to attend in-person or on Zoom, can email AWRC at President@AllentownWestRotary.org.

The in-person meetings are at Madeline’s Restaurant unless otherwise noted.
