Thomas J. Caton

Thomas J. Caton, 81, of Washington Township, died on May 14, 2022, surrounded by his loving family in his home.

He and his wife Sydney E. (Wertz) Caton were married 58 years on Nov. 30, 2021.

Born May 14, 1941, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Thurston and Miriam (Goldsmith) Caton.

He was employed at Mack Trucks, Inc. in Macungie for 30 years before retiring in 1996.

Before that he was employed at the former General Electric.

He was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Gretchen Sue Brago; granddaughter McKenzie K. Brago, both of North Whitehall Township; brother Franklin Haas of Hagerstown, Md.; nieces and nephews;

He was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly Jo Caton; and siblings Susan Sterner, Becky Jacobs, Jill Clayson and David Haas.

His funeral service will be 11 a.m. May 19 at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Gordon A. Camp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kimberly Jo Caton Memorial Fund, Temple University, c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
