Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Office of Financial Aid recently announced April 22, 2021 Anna Horn of Schnecksville was named BU’s Student Employee Rookie of the Year.

Horn was nominated for Rookie of the Year, an award for students in their first semester with a department, by Sandy Freeman, clerical support in BU’s Zeigler Institute for Professional Development.

“Above and beyond her normal duties that she did when we were in the office, as we all acclimated to online learning, right from the start, Anna initiated a project - a pilot program - business cards for ZIPD Elite. She created, revised and using Google docs in an organized way saw the pilot project to full completion with select ZIPD Elite students receiving their first ever ZIPD Elite Business Cards.

“That was not only her idea but her follow-through. I also asked her to be a big part of increasing our Social Media presence at the beginning of her hire, which included her creating and posting promos for the ZIPD Virtual Business Conference, informing students about ZIPD Elite and staying engaged. With her help and her persistence and willingness to do what it takes, we increased our Social Media following by more than 100 percent.”
