Whitehall police: Charges filed in shooting incident
Charges have been filed against a man who police said fired at officers before fleeing the area of Jordan Drive in Whitehall.
According to the report, just before 4:30 a.m. May 9, Whitehall police were dispatched to 50 Jordan Drive, Whitehall, following a report of a disturbance and gun shots coming from an apartment.
Lt. James Lucas said when officers arrived, they were fired upon by an individual, later identified as Olric James Jr.
James then fled the scene, according to Lucas’ report, but, with the assistance of Allentown police, was apprehended a short time later.
James has been charged with two counts each of attempted criminal homicide, assault of a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault - all felony 1 charges.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
No additional information was available at press time.
