North Catasauqua: J4 planning meeting to be held May 12 at municipal building

Catasauqua and North Catasauqua will celebrate Independence Day with a gala celebration starting 11 a.m. July 2 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St., ending with fireworks at dusk at the Alumni Field football stadium, 850 Pine St.

Along with the J4 Celebration will be a mega Catasauqua High School reunion.

A planning meeting is set for 7 p.m. May 12 at North Catasauqua Municipal Building, Fourth and Arch streets.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association will hold an open house 1-4 p.m. the second Sundays of June, July, August and September at Biery House, 8 Race St., to explore Catasauqua’s history and art gallery.

North Catasauqua Recreation Committee will be hosting The Amish Outlaws 7-10 p.m. July 10 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park.

The concert is being funded by a matching grant from PA Parks and Recreation and North Catasauqua Recreation Committee.

Participants are asked to bring a donation of nonperishable goods to the event to help Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

The basketball summer program will be held May 16-July 20. Volleyball will begin soon as well.

Other special summer events held at the park include band concerts featuring 99 Stringz, set for 7 p.m. June 22, and Steel Creek, scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 24.

Family Night will be held Aug. 17.

The committee asks the public to mark their calendars and come out to support these community events.
