EHS transitions to May with college fair, AP testing and spring concerts

Global Citizens Club is selling T-shirts and hoodies featuring the following slogan in 12 languages: “A smile needs no translation.” The apparel aims to celebrate the numerous cultures of students from GCC and the ESL program [English as a Second Language]. Use the Google Form linked in the EHS announcements to place your order now through April 22. The counseling office will host its annual EHS College Fair 6-8 p.m. April 28 in the main and auxiliary gyms. Students of all grade levels will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from over 125 colleges, technical schools, apprenticeship programs and more. A list of participating schools can be found at www.eastpennsd.org/ehs/counseling/.

Now through April 29, junior prom tickets can be purchased before school in Room 539, during all lunch periods outside the cafeteria doors, after school in Room 575 or in the main office from 7:15 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. Prior to purchasing tickets, students must submit guest forms to Ms. Rodriguez’s office.

EHS is accepting applications for next year’s Hornet Ambassador program, where selected members will familiarize incoming students and their families during orientation nights, guidance nights, or other school functions. Interested students may use the Google Form in Schoology to apply now through April 29. Results will be released in mid-July.

For current juniors interested in taking a free college course during the 2022-2023 school year, the EHS High School Scholars Program is accepting applications now through April 29.

Selected students will have the opportunity to study at either Lehigh University or DeSales University. This program is considered competitive; interested juniors should visit Mrs. Greene in the counseling office as soon as possible.

The EHS Spring Orchestra Concert will be held 7-9 p.m. April 29 The EHS Spring Band Concert will be held 7-9:30 p.m. May 3. Both performances are in the auditorium.

Interact Club is looking for volunteers to aid in an Arbor Day celebration at Macungie’s Kalmbach Park 11 a.m. April 30. In groups of four, volunteers will plant a total of 20 trees.

To sign up, use the Google Form in the Interact Club Schoology course. Note: volunteers should bring their own shovels and gloves to the event.

A reminder to students taking Advanced Placement courses: the AP testing window spans May 2-13. Each course has a specific test date, location, and time – be sure to communicate with your teachers to obtain these details. Updates from the College Board may be sent to your school email.
