Drug possession

A 37-year-old female, of Allentown, allegedly had a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia in a vehicle during a traffic stop at Chestnut Street and Green Drive, Emmaus borough, 10:52 p.m. Dec. 22, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 26-year-old male, of Reading, was placed under arrest for alleged drug possession after state troopers responded to a disabled motorist at U.S. Route 222 North/Schantz Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:12 p.m. Jan. 12, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The operator of the vehicle allegedly was seated in the driver’s seat with a green leafy substance visible on a large food tray on his lap.

Identity theft

A suspect was taken into custody after attempting to open a bank account using a fake identification document at TD Bank, 5980 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 2:59 p.m. Jan. 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The bank contacted police. The suspect told police she was to be paid for opening the account for another person. The fake identification document was found to contain the actual personal information of another person.

A resident of Indian Creek Road, Upper Milford Township, discovered an unemployment claim was made with his personal information, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 17.

A resident of Spruce Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned her personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits after her employer notified her of the application, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 17.

A resident of Elm Drive, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was used after a letter from a debt collector arrived regarding money owed on an account for a cell phone company, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 19.

A resident of Lurman Drive, Lower Macungie Township, discovered her personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits in July 2021 when she attempted to apply for unemployment benefits herself, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Feb. 1.

Scam

A resident of the 1000 block of Village Round, Lower Macungie Township, was contacted by a person alleging to be from Amazon who tried to persuade the resident to send $5,400 in gift cards by phone, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported to state police Jan. 20. The resident also notified her bank.

Theft

A resident of the 4300 block of East Mill Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, discovered mail was stolen overnight Jan. 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of the 2000 block of Autumn Ridge Road, Lower Macungie Township, discovered he misplaced his wallet at CVS Pharmacy, 958 S. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An unknown person then attempted to make fraudulent purchases using bank cards in the wallet. The incident was reported Dec. 18, 2021 and remains under investigation.

A 52-year-old male, of Richlandtown, allegedly attempted to remove scrap metal from the rear of a building at 6701 Chestnut St., Upper Milford Township, 11:14 a.m. Jan. 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A black Samsung S10 cellphone, valued at $899 and a phone case, valued at $25, were removed from a location on Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, July 21, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogeslville.

Criminal mischief

A sign in the parking lot of New Wave Car Wash, 3156 Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, was damaged, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 31.

A male allegedly was seen attempting to cut down a village of Limeport street sign in the 1100 block of Beverly Hills Road, Lower Milford Township, 2:55 a.m. Jan. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The male is described as wearing a tan jacket, knit hat and blue jeans. He allegedly fled the area in a blue Subaru hatchback sedan. Reckless endangerment

A man and his dog escaped injury while walking in the 1800 block of Pinewind Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 8:28 p.m. Jan. 14 after someone in a black sedan allegedly attempted to use a BB pellet gun to shoot at the man and his dog while passing them, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Bad checks

Fraudulent checks were used to withdraw money from one of three bank accounts opened at TD Bank, 5980 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The accounts were opened Jan. 14 and 15 by three males. The monetary loss was $3,700 as of Jan. 19 when a bank official reported the incident to state police. Other checks on the accounts are also pending, according to investigators.

A resident of the 5800 block of Limeport Road, Upper Milford Township, learned a $900 check given to repay him by an another person was not good after his bank informed him of the bad check, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Jan. 3.

Accidents

A commercial truck struck a PPL utility pole while turning onto East Texas Road, Lower Macungie Township, snapping the pole in half 5:51 p.m. Jan. 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The truck driver was attempting a right turn from Lower Macungie Road at the time of the accident. The damaged pole caused power lines to fall to the roadway. There were no injuries in the crash. Personnel from the Lower Macungie Fire Department and PPL Utilities also responded.

A motorist escaped injury after he lost control of his vehicle on black ice and struck a tree in the 7200 block of Stein Road, Upper Milford Township, 10:11 p.m. Jan. 20, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling eastbound when he lost control on a curve, went off the right shoulder and down an embankment. The vehicle was towed from the accident scene.

A motorist and his passenger escaped injury when their sport utility vehicle went down an embankment and into a small ravine before hitting a concrete wall near Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:06 p.m. Feb. 3. The motorist was northbound when he lost visibility due to heavy fog and condensation on the vehicle windshield and went off the right shoulder of the road. The vehicle came to rest in a ditch.

Hit and run

accidents

A vehicle was eastbound on Hickory Road and attempting to negotiate a left turn onto Butternut Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 9:28 p.m. Jan. 21 when the motorist missed the turn, went off the road and hit the front of a residence in the 1400 block of Butternut Lane, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist backed away from the house and backed into a mailbox before fleeing northbound on Butternut Lane. The vehicle, described as a 2006 to 2011 white Chevrolet Impala with dark window tints, was last seen making a right turn onto Birch Place. The front end of the car is damaged and the rear of the vehicle has a broken tail lamp. Anyone with information on this incident may contact Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville at 610-395-1438. Lower Macungie Fire Company personnel also responded.

A tractor trailer truck is thought to have struck a barn along Mountain Road, Lower Macungie Township, around 8 a.m. Jan. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The truck was making a left turn onto Schoeneck Road and continued northbound without notifying the homeowner or authorities of the accident.
