Egypt/Cementon: All-you-can-eat breakfast scheduled for Jan. 23

There will be an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8-11:30 a.m. Jan. 23 at Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Cementon.

There is a cost.

Simplify your Super Bowl party preparations and support the youth group of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

The youth group will begin taking hoagie orders Jan. 23 for delivery Feb. 13.

Shepherd of the Hills youth group began the new year with a fundraiser at Egypt Shine Car Wash, 4755 Main St.

Enter the code 43310 to purchase the ultimate wash, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the youth group.

The Jeni Hackett duo will be performing 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, Egypt.

The concert is free to VFW members. There is a small cover charge for nonmembers. Nonmembers are asked to message Hackett through her Facebook page if they plan to attend.

Whitehall Lions Club is sponsoring two $500 scholarships for students pursuing postsecondary study, training or service. Applicants must reside within Whitehall-Coplay School District.

Applications will be accepted through April 1, and scholarships will be awarded by April 30.
