Retail theft

A 64-year-old female, of Allentown and a 60-year-old female, also of Allentown, worked together to allegedly remove items with a total value of $605.06 from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:34 p.m. Dec. 12, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The women allegedly removed miscellaneous items from various aisles. The 64-year-old woman allegedly failed to scan or altered labels of 47 items, with a total value of $505.30, at a self-checkout terminal in the store. The 60-year-old woman allegedly altered labels on four items, with a total value of $49.76, at a separate self-checkout terminal. They then allegedly exited the store together and were located in the store parking lot.

Theft

A bicycle was removed from a bike rack at Giant supermarket, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, between midnight and 6 a.m. Dec. 10, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Forgery

Graham Security Police Incorporated, 1400 Trexlertown Road, Lower Macungie Township, notified state police a check was forged for $4,842.12 by an unknown person who then tried to cash the check, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The check was not cashed. The incident was reported 11:55 a.m. Dec. 14, 2021.

Drug possession

A 39-year-old female, of Macungie, was arrested for alleged possession of a bundle of heroin after state police and a Lehigh County Sheriff deputy responded to a location in the 6800 block of Hunt Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 2:19 p.m. Dec. 20, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogeslville. The female was described as a wanted fugitive. A media release detailed the situation as follows: Upon arrival by state police, the deputy turned over the heroin found on the female when the deputy arrested her on an active warrant.

Scam

A 31-year-old female, of Emmaus, received a call from a person impersonating a law enforcement official who told her there was a warrant for her arrest and she had to pay a fine immediately to avoid arrest, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The female withdrew $8,000, loaded the money onto MoneyPak gift cards and provided the caller with the activation codes. The incident was reported in the 2600 block of Brunner Road, Upper Milford Township, 5:30 p.m. Dec. 21, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of the 5000 block of Valley Stream Lane, Lower Macungie Township, discovered her personal information was used to open fraudulent accounts with three financial institutions, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 3, 2021.

A resident of the 900 block of Village Round, Lower Macungie Township, discovered an unknown person made fraudulent online purchases totaling $433.95 using her debit card account numbers, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 8, 2021.

A resident of the 5000 block of Maranatha Way, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was compromised after he received a $3,000 prepaid debit card for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident is currently employed and did not file for unemployment benefits. The incident likely happened between Sept. 1 and Nov. 29, 2021.

A resident of the 6900 block of Lincoln Drive, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was used to open a fraudulent bank account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Nov. 8, 2021.

Accidents

A 27-year-old motorist, of East Greenville, was hurt after she allegedly fell asleep while driving and struck a tree along Limeport Pike, Lower Milford Township, 2:32 p.m. Dec. 24, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was transported to the hospital for evaluation after the accident. Macungie EMS and Lower Milford Fire Department personnel also responded.

A 16-year-old motorist, of Macungie, lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole and a tree in a one-vehicle accident on Indian Creek Road, Upper Milford Township, 1:21 p.m. Dec. 17, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. His passenger, also 16, was not hurt. The motorist was described by police as possibly injured. The vehicle went off the road in the 4700 block of Indian Creek Road after the driver lost control on a right curve. Emmaus EMS also responded.

A truck driver allegedly damaged utility wires and two poles after turning his tractor trailer around in a field near the 7500 block of Quarry Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:47 a.m. Dec. 15, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle, described as a commercial truck tractor and full trailer combination, was traveling east on Quarry Road and passed several “No trucks over 45 feet long” signs. When faced with a “road closed” sign, the driver turned around in a nearby field and the trailer struck overhead wires. The wires became dislodged and caused a pole to break off and cause damage to another pole. The truck continued to a local warehouse on Quarry Road where it was located by authorities. The operator told state police he was not aware of the damage he allegedly caused when turning the truck.

DUI accident

A 48-year-old female, of Macungie, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and Hidden Valley Road, Lower Macungie Township, 11:22 p.m. Nov. 23, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist allegedly drove a sport utility vehicle through a stop sign and collided with a second vehicle. The SUV then toppled onto its side. Cetronia EMS services, Lower Macungie Fire Department personnel and Stew’s Towing also responded.

DUI

Kyle Robert Bickham, 25, of Hamburg, was found to be allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop along Interstate 78 West, Salisbury Township, 2:30 a.m. Dec. 12, 2021, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
