Allentown West Rotary Club has honored Emma Carpenetti, a senior at Parkland High School, as student of the month.

Emma excels academically and serves others, particularly by being a leader.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, the English Honor Society and the Spanish Club.

At Parkland, she is president of the National Organization for Women Club and secretary of the March for our Lives Club, which is focused upon gun violence prevention.

Emma is also captain of the Parkland High School Color Guard.

Outside school, Emma has volunteered 100 hours at Forgotten Felines and Fidos Animal Shelter, Germansville.

Her future plans are to attend college, focusing on her interests in computer science and speech pathology.

The award ceremony took place via Zoom on Nov. 3.
