CWSA project has additional delays

At Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority’s Nov. 18 meeting, General Manager Matt Harleman reported the completion of the generator for the Eberhart pumping station is delayed again through the end of November. Additional delays are anticipated.

Harleman mentioned the final plans were submitted Oct. 29 to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for the Northampton-Cementon Bridge replacement/relocation project. Everything is reportedly going smoothly with this project. Resolution 379 was created and approved with the revised cost.

Harleman announced he completed and passed Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Certified Wastewater Operators exam.

CWSA received a letter of thanks from Coplay Cemetery Association for a recent $1,000 donation.

The CWSA 2022 preliminary operating budget was created for the board to review. An approval vote will occur in December.

Community Affairs Officer Joseph Marx requested the submission of a motion to approve the next $1,000 donation be given to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, Egypt, due to economic hardship from the pandemic. This will be added to the upcoming agenda.

Assistant Treasurer Paul Boyle requested a motion for authorization to purchase a 2021 New Holland tractor. The order was put in Nov. 1, with a $163,000 cost. The new tractor is due to arrive May 2022.
