Dorothy and Joseph A. Vassa, of Catasauqua, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary Nov. 13.
They were married in 1965 by the Rev. A. Schmidt at St. Mary’s, Catasauqua.
Dorothy is the daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Deibert Mehefko.
Joseph is the son of the late Joseph and Mary Pinter Vassa.
The couple has three children: Kimberly, wife of Tony Garrison, both of Northampton; Wendy-Jo, wife of Jan Honzo-Vassa, both of Coplay; and Joseph III, of Catasauqua.
They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A surprise anniversary celebration was held.
