Emmaus High School Class of 1961 celebrates 60 years

The event featured visits with the EHS Hornet mascot, a memorial display honoring classmates and a digital slide show of yearbook photos. ABOVE: Shirley Clauser joins the Emmaus High School Hornet mascot for a photo at the Superior Restaurant. Clauser arranged for the Hornet to visit as part of the festivities. “I thought it would a nice touch,” Clauser said.
The Emmaus High School Hornet is a special guest at the 60th reunion of the Class of 1961 Oct. 4. Class members welcoming the EHS Hornet include, back row, from left, Richard Schmaldinst and Jim Kelly; front row, from left, Carol Mutchler, Barbara Korpics, Katie Reid and Shirley Clauser. Andrew Nyemscek accompanied the EHS Hornet to the event as the mascot's handler. “It's my first day on the job,” Nyemscek said.
Perry Moyer, a member of the William Allen High School Class of 1969, chats with Sharon Fishburn Koehler, Emmaus High School Class of 1961. “I celebrate the fact that I am here,” Koehler said. Moyer started attending the EHS reunions with Koehler in 2016. “I drag him along,” Koehler joked. More than 60 alumni were expected at the reunion event.
