Emmaus High School student Isabela Lees, of Alburtis, is among students recognized as semifinalists in the National Merit® scholarship program for 2022.

According to her student profile, Lees plans to study accounting in college and has taken advanced placement courses in calculus, physics, computer science and statistics, among other coursework.

She also is a cross-country track athlete and qualified in District competition in two events in 2019 and placed fourth in the 3200m in District competition in 2021.

Lees also worked on The Stinger, the EHS student newspaper, as a deputy opinion editor and volunteered at the Lower Macungie Township Library. Her resume also includes work at the Alburtis Pool snack bar.

Her academic accolades include the Achievement in Geometry Award, the Achievement in Health Award and the Excellence in Personal Finance Award. She also received the EHS AP Scholar Award and is a member of National Honor Society.

Lees hopes to attend Villanova University.
