K-Kid Roundup Girls start off 2-5

The girls field hockey team sits at 2-5 on the season, a position they haven’t been accustomed to as of late.

But the loss of eight starters and a tough schedule to start the year has them in a bit of a hole.

“Our schedule is very front-loaded this season,” head coach Carrie Saul said. “After losing eight starters from a COVID-shortened season, we were anxious to have a season again.”

Saul said right now, Kenadee Carreras (12) and Eliza Rogerson (12) lead the offense with 3 goals apiece. Goalie Kadee Schrader (11) has had some spectacular saves this season, with an exceptional game against Emmaus. Senior defenders Brooke Peters (5 defensive saves) and Taylor Kranzley lead the team defense.

Senior Madison Siegfried is adding to the offense as a midfielder, and newcomer Raegan Iasiello (10) is a threat in the midfield as well, according to Saul.

“We are looking forward to the second half of our season with a renewed goal to qualify for EPC and District 11 tournaments,” Saul said.
