A 27-year-old male, of Allentown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Lehigh Street/Regent Way, Salisbury Township, 12:40 a.m. July 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accidents

Two motorists escaped injury when they lost control on a highway ramp on Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township, 2:05 p.m. July 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicles, both BMW sport sedans, were traveling on the on-ramp from Route 309 Northbound to Interstate 78 Westbound in the area of mile marker 59.3. Both vehicles merged onto the highway. The first vehicle entered the center lane while the second entered the right lane of the highway. Both motorists allegedly were traveling too fast for the wet road conditions and lost control. The sedan in the center lane struck the second vehicle, the collision sending the first car into a ditch on the right side of the road. The second car went onto the right shoulder of the highway, stopping just east of the Summit Lawn ramp. The first vehicle was towed from the ditch.

A truck driver escaped injury when his truck jackknifed along Interstate 78 June 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The truck, a 2016 Mack Truck CXU, was traveling in the far right lane of Interstate 78 westbound near marker 55.7 during heavy rain around 7:49 p.m. The truck also struck the center concrete barrier before stopping on the left shoulder of the road. The truck was towed from the accident site. The driver was traveling too fast for conditions, according to state police.
