St. Ann Church festival returns

With many COVID restrictions lifted and vaccinations upon us, the St. Ann Fall Fest committee is thrilled to welcome the community back to St. Ann Catholic Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus, 5-11 p.m. Aug. 20 and 21. There is free admission and entertainment with some adjustments to the yearly tradition. However, the enduring essence of the parish community coming together to host friends, relatives and members of local communities remains unchanged.

With the new dates and structure comes a new name, just for this year: Welcome Home! - A Community Reunion. Welcome Home! refers to the reopening of local businesses, churches, and activities. Community Reunion is a nod to the entertainers, the food and the volunteers all being locally based or sourced and signifies an invitation to the area community to join the celebration.

The event will include live music under the big entertainment tent, the outdoor food court, the beer garden, the tiki bar and chance games like the basket raffle big ticket drawing. The cafeteria will be unavailable for ethnic foods, so the Fall Fest committee will again take preorders and serve frozen halupkis curbside (pick up on Sept. 11).

In the absence of carnival rides, there will be more activities and entertainment for kids. Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
