Where is America?
Where did she go?
Please, someone tell me;
I’d really like to know.
I know America
as a beautiful place to be,
Now she’s a country divided,
and she’s very angry!
No one seems to be happy;
everyone’s upset,
What’s happening in America
is very hard to forget.
Everything is changing;
nothing is the same.
We’ve somehow lost our right to speak,
It’s not safe to walk the street.
If people do not like you,
if you don’t think the way they do,
There’s a thing called ‘cancel culture’, which
Will take your speech from you.
If they don’t like your color,
you are off the chart.
You are not accepted,
and you need to stay far apart.
Everyone has guns today!
They use them without thought;
The killings taking place today create much pain and distraught.
Where did all the good folks go?
What happened to our peace?
However can we get it back?
If you know, then tell me please!
I want to see America the way she used to be.
With love abounding everywhere;
When people were all free.
When people helped each other,
No matter where or when;
I’d like to see that kindness
Return to us again.
I think people have forgotten,
That God reigns up above;
He created all of us,
He gave us all his love.
I think we should stop the violence,
And get down upon our knees;
And ask God for forgiveness,
For all our ugly deeds.
I know that he will listen,
There is nothing that he lacks;
If we change our ways, and
Ask for his help,
We might get America back!
