Paul F. Womer

Paul F. Womer, 88, of Kempton, died peacefully June 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in his home.

He was the husband of Iris D. (Steigerwalt) Womer and the late Shirley M. (Kuhns) Womer.

Born Dec. 21, 1932, in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Elbert F. Womer and Helen C. (Gerber) Knepper.

He owned and operated Paul F. Womer Memorials, Kempton, since 1954.

Before that, he owned the former Womer Yule Tree Farms in Schuylkill and Lehigh counties for 10 years.

For 40 years, he played the accordion in the band “Country Playboys” performing weekly in many venues throughout the area.

He was a life member of the Lynnport Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Eileen L. Myers (Donald) of Germansville, and Donna Hoffman of Slatington; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by children Gary P. Womer and Jennifer A. (Smith) Snyder; and great-grandchildren Conner and Brinley.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. June 17 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Scott L. Shay officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Ebenezer Church Cemetery, New Tripoli.
