John George Steiner, 84, of Deer Park, Ill., formerly of Schnecksville, died June 8, 2021, in the Lutheran Home for the Aged, Arlington Heights, Ill. The beloved husband of June V. (Dotterer) Steiner, the couple was married 63 wonderful years.

Born July 26, 1936, in Allentown, he was the son of the late John and Mildred (Fisher) Steiner.

He was a manager at K. Heeps Inc., Upper Macungie, for many years before retiring.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife to many cities for conventions.

An avid sports fan, his favorite teams were the New York Yankees, the Boston Celtics and the Penn State Nittany Lions.

He added life, energy, interest and levity to family and social gatherings throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children John W. Steiner and his wife, Gina, of Palatine, Ill., Jane S., wife of the Rev. Michael B. Hinson, of Springfield, Va.; grandchildren Whitney Henry (Riordan), John W. Steiner Jr. (Kristin), Gregory Steiner (Maggie), Lauren Hinson, Samuel Hinson; great-grandchildren Kian, Carter and a little girl on the way; and siblings Lorraine, Joseph, William and Debra Steiner.
