Coplay Public Library: Summer Quest reading program kickoff planned for June 12

The kickoff event for the Summer Quest 2021 Tails and Tales program is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. June 12. There will be chalk art, live music, a light snack and more.

Animal yoga is planned for 11:30 a.m., and therapy dogs are expected noon-2 p.m.

The Summer Quest challenge began June 7. To register, come to the library or go to coplaypubliclibrary.org.

Programs are open for prereaders, children, teens and adults. The challenge for all age groups ends Aug. 28.

The outdoor community crawl to visit seven parks and community locations began June 1. Suggestions for easy activities at each site are printed on the guide.

The crawl can count toward events badges for the Summer Quest challenge.

Everyone who turns in a completed game sheet by Aug. 21 will receive a plantable pencil. Supplies are limited.

The library’s summer hours start June 14 through Aug. 21.

The summer hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.

Current hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Browse the collection, borrow, request and return materials; copy or fax; use a computer; and other services.

Join Miss Janice for the Bookish Beasts storytime, scheduled for 11 a.m. June 17. The Wednesday storytime was held June 9.

Summer storytimes will be in person. The same storytime will be presented 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 11 a.m. Thursdays to accommodate various schedules.

Join us 10 a.m.-noon June 25 for the pet expo sponsored by the Sanctuary at Haafsville, a nonprofit volunteer-based shelter for cats and dogs.

The library book club will meet 6-6:30 p.m. June 30. The theme is books that are on your to-be-read list.

While this will be our first in-person meeting, it will also be streamed live on Zoom.

Use the Libby app or the OverDrive website on any of your devices to read your favorite books or try a new one without leaving your house. More than 14,000 eBooks, audiobooks and magazines are available.

Just go to the library’s website and use your library card number and password to access OverDrive in the E-Resources tab or download the Libby app to your device.

Masks are still required and must be worn correctly while in the building. Hand sanitizer and gloves are available.

We offer curbside services for anyone who cannot wear a mask for a medical reason or is more comfortable staying outside. Place holds on materials directly on your account using our online catalog. We will also copy, fax or print items for you.
