Students earn president’s list

Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the winter 2021 president’s list. The winter term runs January-May.

Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above are named to the president’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits in either EW1 & EW2, EW3 & EW4 or EW5 & EW6.

Students named to honor society

The following Lehigh Carbon Community College students were recently inducted into Alpha Omicron Alpha, the college’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter, the national honor society for two-year colleges.

Phi Theta Kappa is the only nationally- acclaimed honor society serving two-year colleges, which offers associate degree programs. Membership into Phi Theta Kappa is by invitation only. To be considered, a student must be enrolled in an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework, have established a minimum GPA of 3.5, have established a record of academic excellence as judged by the faculty and be of good moral character and possess recognized qualities of citizenship.

University of Scranton

Dait graduates

Dominic A. Dait, of Coplay, was among more than 800 students who earned bachelor’s degrees at the University of Scranton’s in- person celebration ceremonies May 23. Dait earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health administration.

Degrees were conferred to graduates who completed their academic degree requirements in August and December of 2020, as well as January and May of 2021. Due to capacity restrictions in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic, separate ceremonies were held for the university’s Panuska College of Professional Studies, the Kania School of Management and the College of Arts and Sciences at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, Wilkes-Barre.

Pennsylvania College of Technology

Students earn certificates

More than two dozen Pennsylvania College of Technology students proved their industry acumen by earning key certifications related to computer-aided design.

The 27 students, representing five majors from the School of Engineering Technologies, passed demanding exams devoted to SolidWorks, a prominent computer-aided design and engineering program used in manufacturing industries worldwide.

Jacob A. Klinger, of Whitehall, is majoring in engineering design technology.

“Passing SolidWorks certification tests demonstrates proficiency with the software that appeals to potential employers,” said Craig A. Miller, instructor and department head of engineering and industrial design technology. “When combined with the extensive practical experience students receive at Penn College, certification gives them an advantage when competing with graduates from other institutions for employment. We are quite proud of all of these students,” Miller said. “Their performance on such tests validates our instructional approach and demonstrates that we are equipping them for successful careers in industry.”

East Stroudsburg University

Students named to dean’s list

A total of 1,466 students have been named to the dean’s list at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania for the spring 2021 semester of the 2020-21 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs.

East Stroudsburg University, one of the 14 institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, opened in 1893 as East Stroudsburg Normal School. Today, ESU is a comprehensive university in northeastern Pennsylvania offering 58 undergraduate programs, 21 master’s programs and two doctoral programs. More than 6,000 students are enrolled for the high quality, affordable and accessible education ESU provides. Nearly 30,000 ESU alumni live in Pennsylvania.

West Chester University

Genevese earns degree

Aaron Genevese, of Whitehall, earned a master’s degree in human resource management from West Chester University.

University of Findlay

Rogers earns degree

Kenley Rogers, of Bath, has graduated from the University of Findlay. Rogers received a Bachelor of Science in animal science and graduated summa cum laude. Rogers was invited to walk in the commencement ceremonies May 8. Nearly 900 graduates earned doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s or associate degrees for the 2020-21 academic year.

Located in Findlay, Ohio, the university is known not only for science, health professions, animal science and equestrian studies programs, but also for cultivating the next generation of business leaders, educators and global citizens through a dedication to experiential learning, both in and outside of the classroom.

Established in 1882 through a joint partnership between the Churches of God, General Counsel and the City of Findlay, the University of Findlay has more than 80 majors leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers 11 master’s degrees and five doctoral degrees.
