North Catasauqua: Catty Seniors Plus group meets May 26

Catty Seniors Plus will be meeting 1 p.m. May 26 at Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St. Doors open noon.

Everyone must wear a mask, have their COVID-19 vaccination and social distance.

There will be a luncheon and bingo. There will be no speakers this year.

Members will be receiving phone calls to see how many are planning to attend to ensure there is enough food and dessert. Those who don’t get a call are asked to call Dorothy Vassa at 610-264-2853.

Public Library of Catasauqua will hold its summer reading program June 21 and 28 and July 6, 12, 19 and 26. This year’s theme is Tails and Tales and includes crafts for children and teens.

The library hopes to have in-person activities, but grab-and-go craft bags are also offered.

Books are available to borrow.

North Catasauqua Recreation Committee held its first 2021 meeting the last week of April to discuss upcoming events.

Acoustic duo 99 Stringz is slated to perform 7-9 p.m. June 30 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St. Rain date is July 1.

National Night Out will be held at the park July 14.

Park activities will likely begin in June.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is open to the public. The hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Masks must be worn, and only five customers are allowed in at a time.

The shop accepts donations.
