SAUCON VALLEY: ‘Little Women’

Saucon Valley High School brings the 19th century back to life with “Little Women (The Broadway Musical),” 7 p.m. April 22, 23, 24, and 2 p.m. April 25, auditorium, Saucon Valley High School, 2100 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown.

Live-stream passes are available for 7 p.m. April 22-25.

Co-Directors Brian Welsko and Hannah Arnold Welsko are assisted by Vocal Director Abigail Arnold and Choreographer Alanna Van Kampen.

The musical is based on “Little Women,” the semi-autobiographical novel by Louisa May Alcott. Sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March experience heartache, hope and love growing up during the Civil War in the United States.

With music by Jason Howland, lyrics by Mindi Dickstein and book by Allan Knee, the 2005 Broadway musical was nominated for one Tony Award.

“Astonishing,” “Five Forever,” “Some Things are Meant to Be” and “I’d Be Delighted” are among featured songs.
