North Catasauqua: HCPA to hold May 1 yard sale

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association is sponsoring a community yard sale, scheduled for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 1 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.

Setup starts 8 a.m., and you must bring your own table. There is a cost, but it is free for nonprofits and service organizations.

HCPA welcomes donated items to be sold at its table.

Public Library of Catasauqua has set new hours - 3-5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays, beginning April 12.

Patrons may make a 20-minute appointment to browse the collections or use a computer.

Call the library at 610-264-4151 to make an appointment. Curbside service will continue.

Catty Seniors Plus meets 1 p.m. May 26 at the Slovak Center Social Club, 1233 Fifth St. Doors open noon.

Everyone must wear a mask and have their COVID-19 vaccination, and social distancing will be required.

There will be a luncheon and bingo. There will be no speakers this year.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., reopened April 5. The hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Masks must be worn, and only five customers are allowed in at a time.

The shop accepts donations.

You can purchase a “We Support North Catasauqua Police” yard sign 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the borough building or by calling the Lehigh County nonemergency number.

The North Catasauqua Recreation Committee is currently on hiatus. Monthly meetings will resume soon.

Park activities will likely begin in June.
