Lehigh County COVID-19 Response Steering Committee distributed $33.3 million allocated to the county as part of the federal CARES relief act.

•$5 million for small business grant pool

•$6 million for drug, alcohol, behavioral health and human services

•$5 million for non-profit and community entities

•$5 million for regional co-operation and tourism

•$4 million for broadband, education and workforce assistance

$11 million in additional CARES funds have not been distributed according to Community and Economic Development Director Frank Kane. Kane said Catholic Charities will be contracted to distribute the money. An additional $4 million in federal grant money will be used to assist the local hospitality industry which will be distributed by the Rising Tide Community Loan Fund, a subsidiary of Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley.
