LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My family is just me, my mom and our pets. My mother is Kathie Eckhart, our dog is Josh and our cat is Trouble.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject changes depending on what I find interesting at the time but, at the moment, I am really interested in philosophy. While they don’t offer it at Salisbury, I still like doing my own research and understanding of our reality and existence. It piques my interest because it helps me ground myself into understanding my own existence and reality.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been accepted into National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I am not involved with any extracurricular activities.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My goal after high school is to spend time trying to understand myself and figure out what I want to do with the rest of my time. I ideally would love to travel across the country and around the world but in reality, I will just be attending Lehigh Carbon Community College and taking classes that pique my interest. Overall, I want to expand my understanding and continue to experience new things.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My battle with anxiety and overcoming lack of self-confidence. While I still work on both, I have come leaps and bounds from where I used to be. I am proud of my accomplishments and the realizations I have made throughout the process on my journey of growth.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would hopefully be remembered as someone who was fun and carefree.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mom because she has gone through so much in her life and she continues to fight and provide a great support system for me.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. I wish my peers would still remember that we are kids! The world we have grown up in has altered us so much. We have lost our fun and carefree selves. I wish all of us could remember to be present and enjoy the things life has to offer. In the grand scheme of things, the world will not end if we take some time to have fun.
